  <title>Chris (Ronnie) Sell</title>
  <link>http://www.41retro.co.uk/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=28</link>
<description>Ronnie (Chris) Sell lost his brave 18 month battle against a brain tumour on Saturday 16 Aug 08. He will be sadly missed by family and friends and will always be remembered for his humour, loyalty and his gift of the gab. A real character and true friend. Although not strictly a member of 41 Sqn many of you will remember this fine gentleman and top Armourer from his days at Coltishall.

A funeral service for Chris (Ronnie) Sell, will take place on Wed 27 Aug 08 at St George&#039;s Chapel, RAF Wyton at 1130hrs followed by a crematorium service (family and close friends only) at 1245. The wake will be held at the Masonic Hall, Chequer Square, Bury St Edmonds, IP44 1QZ. All former friends and colleagues are invited to attend the funeral service and the wake. Dress for Service Personnel attending is No1 SD with medals. Officers and WOs are to wear brown gloves with black armbands. In accordance with the family&#039;s wishes there are to be no floral tributes. However, donations can be made and will be divided equally between Macmillan Nurses, SSAFA and RAFA. Cheques should be made payable to Service Funds RAF Brampton/Wyton and sent to OC PSF RAF Wyton. POC is the Visiting Officer Sqn Ldr Graham Grice, RAF Wyton 95371 5252.

<title>25th Anniversary of the Squadron Coach Tragedy (updated 16/4/08)</title>
  <link>http://www.41retro.co.uk/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=24</link>
<description>On the 21 May 2008 it is the 25th anniversary of the coach crash which killed 6 good friends who were members of our Squadron. Some of the families and friends will be making the journey to where the Memorial is placed at the Scottow Airfield Cemetery. I believe they will be gathering at about 1100 on the 21st for a short ceremony. Anyone wishing to attend will be welcome and I think there will be a get together in the 3 Horseshoes at Scottow after a short ceremony. I, due to work commitments will be there at about 0830 so my apologies for missing the main ceremony. Tiny Briggs is serving in the Falkland Isles so he also will be unable to attend, but sends his best wishes and regards to all. If you are attending please would you take your camera with you and get a few pictures for this site, so that the occassion is marked and will, like the rest of the images on this site remain part of our Sqns history. As sad as it is for all of us to lose family and friends I hope that no-one would object to any pictures appearing in our Memorium Gallery. I have spoken to Chris Walster and he told me there may be a fly past if an aircraft is in the vicinity at 1115 by a Tornado aircraft and there will be a buglar as well as a Piper.

If I get further news I will update the site

  <title>Spirit of Coltishall</title>
  <link>http://www.41retro.co.uk/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=3</link>
  <description>Dear All,

Here&#039;s a proposition for you to consider regarding the formation of an association to commemorate the unique spirit of RAF Coltishall. If you are interested, please complete the pro froma in the 2nd attachment and send back to me.

Please pass on to anyone not named above who you think might be interested or post on an appropriate noticeboard. Please bear in mind this is for Non commissioned ranks and civilians and is separate from the RAF Coltishall Association being formed for other reasons. The next major event being planned will be a Battle of Britain Ball at the Wensum Valley Golf Club after a very successful Burns night attended by 60 ex Coltishall people. A website domain has been purchased (website is under construction) and appropriate committee controlled accounting is being set up.

regards,

John Welton
